Singderella is a platform for performers to share their work. As a social network, it allows singers and songwriters to showcase their talents to the world. When users post a video on Singderella, they're exclusively connecting with an appreciative audience who can interact, vote and share their work virally.
Singderella v1.0 was built in HTML, PHP & lean JavaScript, powered by a MySQL database.
Version 2.0 was developed in HTML5 with jQuery for user interaction. Built with
PHP and the Zend Framework to create the stable, high performance and scalable platform it is today. The platform makes heavy use of Amazon Web Services (AWS), using the Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) and the Relational Database Service (RDS) for its main hosting. To increase stability further, Amazon's CloudFront Content Distribution Network (CDN) and Simple Storage Service (S3) for the distribution of videos and other static assets. The site also uses a number of 3rd party APIs – including Facebook Connect, SendGrid & Zencoder for video encoding.
I was involved in the initial thought process and creativity behind Singdarella, continuing to completely build v1.0 from scratch. In v2.0 I developed the front end of the site and coordinated the other members of the developement.
I have since been used in a consultancy role for marketing campaigns and general advice.
